Duke International Center for Women’s Reproductive Health
 

Vision:

The vision of the “ Duke International Center for Women’s Reproductive Health” is to improve women’s reproductive health care in communities throughout the world.
 

Mission:

Duke International Center for Women’s Reproductive Health” plans to fulfill its vision by
  1. …supporting the efforts of local communities to initiate and sustain culturally relevant programs that are designed to address reproductive health problems.
  2. …helping these communities evaluate the success of efforts that are supported by the Center by collecting and analyzing relevant endpoints.
  3. …working with international, national, and local partners to convert successful local community programs into sustainable health care/health service models.
  4. …providing educational opportunities for learners to participate in the efforts of the Center.
  5. …increasing public awareness of the health disparities relating to reproductive health issues.
  6. …creating a forum for an ongoing ethical critique of the methods of interaction and support provided by the Center.

      $50,000 Duke Provost Common fund Award
  • Nigeria Funding
    • CO-PI on $50,000 grant from the Packard Foundation (applied for through IntrahHealth International) looking at the sociocultural and religious factors that influence Obstetric Fistula in Nigeria
