The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts philanthropic gifts through the Office of Development at Duke University . The department has a rich history of philanthropic giving. The department has several endowment professionships, an endowed lectureship and an endowed research fund. These professionships, lectureships and research funds have grown out of the generous donations of alumni, grateful patients and friends of the department. Current endowed professorships include the following:

The department continues to accept gifts to the Charles B. Hammond Research Endowment. Dr. Charles B. Hammond, Chair Emeritus led the department for more than 20 years until his retirement in 2002. This research fund is designed to assist junior faculty, fellows and residents in their research initiatives.
 
You can make a gift to existing professors and research initiatives or to the specific research program of any faculty members in the department. Faculty members are involved in both basic and clinical research in several areas including perinatal research on premature birth, the genetics of ovarian cancer and etiology and treatment of uterine fibroids, pelvic floor disorders and ovarian and oocyte cryopreservation.
 
The department also launched a Global Women’s Health Program in conjunction with the Global Initiative of Duke University Medical Center. This initiatives include bring quality care to the women of Haiti and an International Fistula Program in Africa .
 
Your generous gifts and donation will contribute to the rich heritage of philanthropy that will enhance the department basic and clinical research efforts in the future.
