Katherine Bishop, MD
Why did you chose Duke for residency training?
I came here for the people. At Duke, you not only get a great education and excellent surgical and clinical experience, you meet mentors and colleagues who you will be close with for life. There is such an amazing diversity of backgrounds and experiences among the people here that you learn something new everyday from the incredible people you work with.
What are your career interests?
I would like to become an academic generalist at a university medical center. I love being at Duke where we have medical students and residents and there are constant teaching and learning opportunities. I would also like to continue doing research, especially with one of my newer interests, quality improvement.
What are your hobbies?
Vegetarian cooking (and eating), road biking, watching college basketball, being outdoors, reading.
