Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

On my interview day at Duke, I vividly remember feeling a strong sense of family among the faculty and residents. Everyone was so personable and kind, I immediately knew I had found my people. They exemplified clinical excellence, intellectual vitality, and a deep dedication to their community, all of which are characteristics that I hope to embody as a clinician. Having lived on the west coast for most of my adult life, the opportunity in Durham to care for a diverse patient population and advocate for reproductive rights was unparalleled.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

In addition to the excellent clinical training and mentorship opportunities, I resonated with Duke’s dedication to train leaders in ob/gyn who champion system-based initiatives, such as HPV screening projects in East Africa, the concept of the Pregnancy Medical Home and advocacy. I am confident that mentorship from Duke’s world-class faculty and exceptional residents will shape me into the provider and women’s health leader I strive to become.

What are your career goals?

I am very interested in a combined maternal-fetal medicine and genetics fellowship, but I also enjoy caring for women across the full spectrum of reproductive health.

Describe your research interests/goals:

Prenatal diagnosis, genetic screening, non-invasive prenatal testing, cost-effectiveness analysis

What are your hobbies?

Baking, making pasta from scratch, hosting dinner gatherings, hiking, traveling, curling up with a good book
