Maternal Fetal Medicine

The Duke Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division is a leader in research, education and clinical care. Our internationally-recognized MFM faculty provide expertise in high-risk, complicated pregnancies. Our specialists are trained in the latest, cutting-edge procedures for the evaluation and treatments in maternal-fetal care. We are committed to training the next generation of MFM specialists and providing world-class clinical care.


The Duke Urogynecology Division is a leader in research, education and patient care.  Our internationally-recognized urogynecology faculty provide expertise in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.  We focus on individualizing patient care and take pride in educating our patients about their conditions and available treatment options.

Gynecologic Oncology

The Duke Division of Gynecologic Oncology is a leader in research, education and clinical care. Our internationally-recognized faculty provide expertise in the evaluation and treatment of cancers that affect the reproductive system. This includes advanced minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy, palliative care and management of hereditary cancers.  

Reproductive Sciences

The Reproductive Sciences Division is led by Susan Murphy, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Duke Nicholas School of the Environment, who was appointed Chief in December of 2017.

Dr. Murphy is an internationally recognized and highly accomplished reproductive scientist whose research has focused on the developmental origins on health and disease, in particular the role of epigenetics in development of gynecologic malignancies, and the impact of environmental exposures on childhood development.

DUH, DRH Advanced Practice Providers

 Certified Nurse Midwives are experts at low risk birth. They provide copious amounts of education for Ob/Gyn and Community Medicine & Family Medicine first-year residents, medical students, PA students, midwifery students and nursing students regarding labor management, birth expectations, procedural skills, vaginal exams, AROM, insertion of IUPC and FSE, use of local anesthesia, episiotomy and laceration repair, and postpartum hemorrhage management.
