Davidson Honored by APGO, Accepted for Leadership Program

Congratulations to gynecologic oncologist Brittany Davidson, MD, recipient of the 2025 Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Humanism in Teaching Award.

Her glowing nomination stated, among many other accolades:

  • Dr. Davidson is our Residency Program Director and a consummate professional. She has a big impact on the learning environment and culture of our department. In the undergraduate domain, medical students consistently comment about her humanism in the OR.
  • She always adds a fun and/or meaningful fact about the patient during the timeout — to help remind the room this is a person, not a surgery.
  • “If I am surgeon someday, I want my OR to be like Dr. Davidson’s OR.”

Dr. Davidson also serves as Duke's gynecologic oncology fellowship associate program director. Additionally, she has been selected for the 2026 Duke Clinical Leadership Program. This year’s cohort includes 24 faculty leaders representing 14 departments and three entities across the Duke University Health System.
