The SMFM Publications Committee, with incoming chair Jeffrey Kuller, MD (top left), has announced the selection of second year resident Gregory Zemtsov, MD, as a new committee member. Dr. Zemtsov is one of two residents to have been selected for the first time to serve on the Publications Committee. The committee publishes SMFM Clinical Guidelines directed toward MFM subspecialists and published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (AJOG), a SMFM Consult Series in AJOG and SMFM statements to address emerging topics and issues directed toward high-risk populations or of interest to MFM subspecialists. Committee members work collaboratively with ACOG on the Obstetric Care Consensus Series, as well as on dissemination of other work related to clinical, research and technical information, and practice recommendations.
Sarah Dotters-Katz, MD, MMHPE, has been appointed to the SMFM Fellowship Affairs Committee. Her term begins this month. As a committee member, she will represent member opinion in decision-making and help serve member needs through interaction. Service on an SMFM committee is also the training ground for future leadership and an arena where emerging leaders can test and refine their skills and abilities.
