ECMT2's She Dunks on Cancer Symposium Raises Over $60K for Research

The Endometrial Cancer Molecularly Targeted Therapy Consortium (ECMT2) led by Angeles Alvarez Secord, MD, MHSc, presented its 5th Annual She Dunks on Cancer Educational Symposium on Feb. 25. Following an introduction by Dr. Alvarez Secord, talks with both clinical and patient perspectives were presented by Duke Cancer Institute and Duke Ob/Gyn faculty members, as well as national experts in treating endometrial cancer. After the symposium, participants attended the Duke Women’s Basketball vs. NC State game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The event raised over $60,000 for endometrial cancer research.

The ECMT2 was started by Dr. Alvarez Secord with the initial support of the Kay Yow Cancers that Affect Women grant in 2019. The original nine-member consortium continues to grow and now includes 23 sites across the country.
