Linda Peacock, RN, nurse manager at Harris & Smith Ob/Gyn, was honored on July 31, 2018 as the recipient of a Friends of Nursing Excellence Award — one of the highest honors a Duke nurse can receive. Linda was presented with a $1,000 educational stipend from the PDC by Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, Vice President of Patient Care and System Chief Nurse Executive for Duke University Health System, and the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs for Duke University School of Nursing. Every year, hundreds of nurses are nominated for their exemplary professional practice by patients, patient families and colleagues. Annually, winners of 36 awards are selected by committees of their peers. Excellence Award recipients are recognized at the annual Friends of Nursing Gala, where they are celebrated by Duke leaders, colleagues, friends and family. They receive a trophy, and a gold pin, in addition to the $1,000 education stipend.
