Congratulations to Rachel Wood, MD, medical director for the Duke Birthing Center at Duke University Hospital, and colleagues Jennifer Cohen, MD (Duke Pediatrics), and Jeffrey Russ, MD, PhD (Duke Neurology) for being selected as a Duke Institute for Brain Sciences (DIBS) “Dream Team” and receiving funding for their project: "Duke IN utero Fetal NeuroTherapies (INFaNT).
The team was awarded $30K/year for three successive years (project conclusion date is Sept. 30, 2029). The first-year work will focus on a proposed deliverable of identifying one existing neurogenetic gene therapy for translation to human fetal delivery.
Additionally, the Department of Pediatrics will match DIBS funding for the work focusing on disorders of the nervous system.
