Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
I chose Duke for my residency training because of the exceptional mentors, inspiring training environment and high quality of life in Durham. I have wanted to be an Ob/Gyn for almost a decade and I am so excited to pursue that goal at a place like Duke.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke OB/GYN?
I am grateful to be a part of a department dedicated to excellent care, outreach and advocacy. It is a privilege to have the resources to be able to care for high acuity patients and offer cutting edge treatment options. While I knew this was the environment I wanted to train in, the most amazing surprise has been discovering how deeply compassionate, driven and thoughtful my co-residents are.
What are your career goals?
My career goal is to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to a diverse population. While I am excited to explore the many areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology, I continue to be drawn back to the importance of humanity in medicine, and envision that theme no matter what career setting I end up in. At this point in my training, I hope to be a surgeon in an academic setting with the opportunity to collaborate with learners and colleagues from other specialties.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy trying new foods (+/- cooking), star gazing, listening to audiobooks, geocaching and staying in touch with family & friends
