DeEtte graduated from N.C. State University with a B.S. in Zoology in 1998. She then spent several years at East Carolina University studying Molecular Biology with a focus on embryology. After the birth of her daughter where she received wonderful care with midwives, she decided to switch her focus to women's health. She went to East Carolina University and received her RN and MSN with a concentration in Midwifery. DeEtte then spent 8 years working in private practice in the Greenville, NC area before coming to Duke University in spring of 2016. DeEtte appreciates the multidisciplinary team approach to labor and delivery and enjoys teaching residents and medical students.
