Why did you choose Duke for your fellowship training?

During the interview, it quickly became apparent to me that I wanted to train with these faculty and fellows. They appeared happy, supported, and excited about their work. The fellows also work hard — I wanted a training program in which I could become the most competent MFM physician possible, and this was the place. Additionally, my own institution's faculty highly recommended the Duke MFM division and their work.

What excites you about the fellowship program at Duke Obstetrics & Gynecology?

I'm excited to train in a new region of the country at a new institution. In medicine, it's essential to experience differences in practice, and this was my opportunity to learn from a highly regarded program and hospital. I'm also excited for the research opportunities and support. Additionally, I look forward to caring for and learning from a diverse patient population.

What are your career goals?

I envision practicing at an academic medical center, while also supporting women and pregnant people in rural and underserved regions (I'm from Oklahoma, and completed my medical school education and residency training in Utah!). Additionally, I have interests in medical ethics and humanities and hope to continue to incorporate that into my work.

What are your hobbies?

Road trips, visiting the national parks, tomato gardening (no other vegetables, just tomatoes), biking
