Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
Rotating through Duke Ob/Gyn as a second-year medical student, I quickly knew I found home. From teaching me to suture to sharing with me life advice, everyone I met was invested my growth professionally and personally. As a third time Dukie and a 10-year resident of Durham, I am committed to this community and look forward to continuing to serve as an Ob/Gyn resident.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke OB/GYN?
I am excited for the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field who continually challenge me to become a better clinician; and co-residents who inspire me to provide empathetic care. I look forward to being invigorated by the Durham community, who never fail to remind me of why I chose medicine in the first place.
What are your career goals?
My primary career goal is to be a fierce advocate alongside those on the margins. With an emphasis on community health, I hope to pursue a career in gynecologic surgery. I also hope to continue engaging in global health research and health initiatives in the future.
Describe your research interests/goals:
My research interests include health disparities, global health, quality improvement and infectious disease.
What are your hobbies?
Running, biking, kayaking, camping, traveling and baking
