Matthew Barber, MD, MHS, Chair of Duke Ob/Gyn, announced today that Amy Murtha, MD, Duke Ob/Gyn Professor and Vice Chair for Research, has been appointed Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Services at the University of California, San Francisco. She will start in her new role May 1, 2018.
Dr. Murtha came to Duke as a resident 25 years ago and has made substantial contributions to the Department, Duke University and the field of research. She has held multiple leadership positions in the Department during her time with Duke Ob/Gyn, including Program Director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program, and, most recently, Interim Chair of Duke Ob/Gyn. Dr. Murtha has been a mentor and role model to countless physicians and educators.
