Rising third-year Duke medical student Alexa Campbell was selected for the Gertrude B. Elion Mentored Medical Student Research Award. This $10,000 award will fund training and research expenses for the upcoming year. Alexa will be working with maternal-fetal medicine faculty Sarahn Wheeler, MD, and Jeff Federspiel, MD, PhD, on her research, titled “The Role of Social Determinants in Preeclampsia Racial Disparities.”
