Presenters: Geeta Swamy, MD  and Linda O'Neal Eckert, MD

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Update on current recommendations for maternal immunization and the future of maternal immunization
  • Discuss practical tips to incorporate immunizations into your practice
  • Identify and locate resources for providers and patients regarding immunizations

Obstetrician-gynecologists provide many women with comprehensive preventive services. As part of this preventive care, ACOG encourages ob-gyns to become immunization champions. Immunizations during pregnancy not only protect the mother, but can also protect her baby from potentially serious infectious diseases for their first months of life.

During this webinar, Dr. Geeta Swamy and Dr. Linda O’Neal Eckert, members of ACOG’s Immunization and Emerging Infections Expert Work Group, will discuss the importance of maternal immunizations, as well as provide current recommendations for maternal immunization. Drs. Swamy and Eckert will also share practical tips for incorporating immunizations into an ob-gyn practice. Additionally, immunization resources from both the CDC and from ACOG, including patient education materials and health care provider tools, will be highlighted.

Following the live presentation, the webinar will be archived on ACOG’s Immunization for Women website for convenient viewing. The recording will not provide CME credit.
