James Receives Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Andra (Andi) H. James has been awarded the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS) Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award will be presented in April at the 2017 HTRS Scientific Symposium. The HTRS Lifetime Achievement Award honors a member who has made a lasting and extraordinary contribution to research, education, mentorship or clinical care in hemostasis or thrombosis.

James has spent her career focusing on a cross-discipline approach to women’s health and achieving the best health outcomes for women and girls with blood disorders.  She been a role model in working toward bridging hematology and obstetrics/gynecology.  In 2009, James, Dr. Roshni Kulkarni and Dr. Barbara Konkle founded the Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD.org), dedicated to provider education and information in the area of women’s blood disorders, benefiting the quality of patient care.
