Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

I chose Duke because I wanted somewhere that I could have it all. From excellent training to research opportunities to diverse populations, Duke provides its residents with superior training while providing a safe and supportive environment to grow. I felt an immediate connection on interview day and knew that this program would help me thrive.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

I am excited to join a group of people who share similar goals as me. Growing up in Georgia and doing my medical training here, the patient population in the southeast holds a special place in my heart. I am astutely aware of some of the unique challenges that these patients face, and I am excited to continue serving and advocating on their behalf with all of my colleagues at Duke. 

What are your career goals?

I hope to pursue a career in gynecologic oncology. I am drawn to the mix of surgical, medical, and longitudinal care that this specialty would afford me, and I have closely witnessed the impact that these cancers have on patients and their families.

Describe your research interests/goals:

I have pursued several research projects related to social determinants of health and how they impact patients with gynecologic cancers. I would like to continue investigating the challenges these patients face and the steps that we can take to reduce some of the non-medical burdens associated with cancer.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include anything outdoors or active! I enjoy hiking, sailing, trail running, cycling, etc. Recently, most of my free time has been spent training for triathlons, and I have done a few 70.3s and one full Ironman.
