Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
I loved everything about my Duke interview day, especially the focus on health equity for all and how both residents and faculty were incredibly friendly, down-to-earth and genuinely cared for one another. Residents described how the program leadership truly has their best interests at heart and is responsive to their experiences as the curriculum is continuously perfected. I also chose Duke Ob/Gyn for the broad exposure to high volume, complexity and acuity within a diverse patient population and within the community that raised me.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I am beyond excited to join the Duke Ob/Gyn community! I can't wait to meet my co-residents and faculty mentors! I am also very much looking forward to the unique training opportunities such as menopause clinic, pelvic pain clinic and rotations at the VA and in rural areas.
What are your career goals?
I envision a career as either a generalist or in maternal-fetal medicine, partnering with patients, families and communities to provide care consistent with their values and priorities.
Describe your research interests/goals:
My research focuses on people's multifaceted experiences of reproductive transitions across the lifespan and works to lift these narratives into academic literature to drive change in public policy and clinical practice. My primary focus areas include the experiences of menopause among people involved in the carceral system and the ethical inclusion of pregnant individuals in clinical trials.
What are your hobbies?
I am an amateur but dedicated "DIY" house project-er! I also spend my time running, cooking and doing yoga.
