Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
I chose Duke Ob/Gyn for residency because it felt like the perfect fit in every way. From the moment of my interview, I was drawn to the program’s welcoming and supportive environment, where I could see myself thriving.
The program’s exceptional clinical training, exposure to a diverse patient population, and abundant research opportunities made it clear that Duke would provide the comprehensive education I was seeking. Most importantly, I knew I would be genuinely happy here — both personally and professionally — making it the ideal place to grow into the physician I aspire to be.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I am excited for the opportunity to train at an institution with a renowned reputation for clinical excellence, innovation and advocacy. I look forward to learning from leaders in the field and being mentored by faculty who are advancing research and patient care. I am also eager to care for a diverse patient population, pursue meaningful research opportunities and collaborate with co-residents who share my passion for advocacy.
What are your career goals?
I’m interested in pursuing gynecologic oncology, but I also love every aspect of ob/gyn, so becoming a generalist is also a strong possibility! Regardless, I plan to continue working in academic medicine after residency.
Describe your research interests/goals:
Black maternal mortality and morbidity, medical education and preventive screening.
What are your hobbies?
I am a true bookworm at heart — I love getting lost in a good fantasy series. I enjoy photography and capturing special moments for people! I also love to travel to new places and try new foods.
