Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
Duke stood out to me as a program that truly balances excellence in patient care, resident well-being, research, and a strong commitment to serving diverse populations.
During my interview day, I was especially struck by how every faculty member made me feel welcomed, at ease, and genuinely supported. Everyone was approachable and kind, and there was a clear, consistent emphasis on being “kind consultants” and supporting one another. Coming from Lebanon and being away from my family for several years, it was important for me to find a program where I could feel at home, and Duke gave me that sense of belonging.
As I explored different programs, I was also drawn to Duke’s vision of training future leaders while recognizing that leadership looks different for everyone and nurturing each resident’s individual strengths. The culture of collaboration, support, and kindness was evident in every interaction and gave me confidence that this is an environment where I can grow into the best version of myself as an OB-GYN.
Ultimately, Duke offers not only outstanding clinical and surgical training, but also a community that aligns with my values and will allow me to provide the best possible care to my patients.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I’m really excited to train at Duke and learn from leaders in the field of OB-GYN while caring for a diverse patient population. I’m also looking forward to building strong relationships with my co-residents and being part of a supportive team.
Most importantly, I’m excited to grow in an environment that challenges me, values hard work, and helps me become the best version of myself as a physician.
What are your career goals?
I hope to build a balanced career that allows me to be actively involved in patient care while also pursuing research. I am particularly interested in using research to improve patient outcomes and advocate for better care. I would love to stay in academia, where I can combine clinical practice with research, continue learning from mentors, and contribute to teaching future generations.
While I find all areas of OB-GYN interesting, I am especially drawn to reproductive endocrinology, particularly in exploring ways to preserve fertility for patients facing different medical or personal circumstances.
Ultimately, I aim to become a compassionate, reliable, and culturally aware physician who builds strong relationships with patients and advocates for their needs.
Describe your research interests/goals:
My current research interests focus on fertility preservation in patients with gynecologic and non-gynecologic cancers.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy horseback riding, swimming, cooking different cuisines, and exploring new cities and countries. I also love spending time with loved ones, trying new restaurants, and discovering coffee shops.
