Residency Program

Start Year:

2023

Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

I had the privilege of training at Duke for medical school, which allowed me early exposure to the incredible ob/gyn department here. I truly believe that the people at Duke are one of kind, and as a result, our residency program is too! The emphasis on patient-centered care, supportive learning environment for trainees and strong mentorship in the department are just a few examples of why I chose to train here.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

I want to get the most out of my four years of residency, so exposure to the many available subspecialties here is really exciting to me. Additionally, we serve a diverse patient population here in Durham, and Duke’s commitment to addressing maternal health disparities is something that I am passionate about and excited to be able to contribute to.

What are your career goals?

I have loved the teaching and research opportunities found in academic medicine thus far, so I aspire to practice in an academic setting. Whether I follow my early interest in gynecologic oncology, or find a passion for another field during my clinical rotations, I hope to have a career where I remain clinically curious and find deep meaning in serving my patients.

Describe your research interests/goals:

I'd like to continue building on my foundation in quality improvement and health outcomes research. My goal is ultimately to help change clinical guidelines to improve patient care through my research.

What are your hobbies?

I love staying active at the gym, on my Peloton or by practicing yoga! I also love sleeping in, jaunting around the Durham farmers' market on Saturday mornings and scoping out local concerts.
