Dmitry Fridman, MD, PhD, FACOG, has joined Duke Ob/Gyn as Clinical Associate in the Community Outreach and Education Division. Dr. Fridman completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) at the Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein School of Medicine, and residency at Maimonides Medical Center, both in New York. He also held the role of Administrative Chief Resident at Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Fridman attended medical school at the Military Medical Academy in the Russian Federation, Saint Petersburg, where he completed residency in general surgery and earned his PhD. His thesis was titled Biopsy Diagnosis of Adenomyosis.
"I chose the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology because it is the field in which I feel I can make the most difference. My goal is to provide individualized, evidence-based knowledge to allow women to make the best choices for themselves to optimize their reproductive health. From helping select personalized family planning options, to alleviating pain and bleeding problems, to challenging surgeries, to restoring one back to her previous good state of health, I strive to provide top quality care. My further training in MIGs and gynecologic ultrasound help me to help my patients. Providing empathic support, earning trust and improving my patients’ lives is what drives me every day," said Dr. Fridman.
