The Multidisciplinary K12 Urologic Research Career Development Program (KURe-NIH K12) competitive renewal has been funded, with a budget of $3 million over the next 5 years. Cindy Amundsen, MD, is the PI, and Friederike Jayes, DVM, PhD,is the Program Coordinator.

The program will be able to support 3 Scholars at any given time and is currently recruiting a new Scholar. During the past 5 years, the KURe has been especially effective supporting PhDs to expand their research to include human subjects and translational aims, and supporting MDs and clinicians to expand their research to include mechanistic and basic science aims. The new funding will also enable the successful annual Multidisciplinary Benign Urology Research Day to continue. The next event is scheduled for April 26, 2019.
