Residency Program

Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

As soon as I met Duke’s ob/gyn residents at their virtual residency fair, I knew it was the place for me. Duke’s program had the emphasis on advocacy, research and serving the underserved I was looking for, plus kind and inspiring people who shared my priorities and truly cared. I felt that at Duke I would get the challenging training I was looking for and get to be part of a community I knew I could count on. I also did my undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill, so between the welcoming community at Duke and the friends I already have in the area, it is so nice to be moving back to NC!

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

I am excited to train alongside my co-residents and to be mentored by leaders in our field. I cannot wait to learn at a high acuity center where I can become the best physician possible for my patients.

What are your career goals?

Ob/Gyn is a field where choosing a final path of generalist or subspecialist will be exceedingly difficult, as every time I am exposed to a different path within this profession I am convinced that is where I am meant to be. As a result, I am currently interested in subspecializing into MFM, PAGs or REI, though there is so much to experience in residency I am sure that will change many times! Long-term, I hope to operate in an academic setting, as I love research and teaching others about this awesome profession. I also hope to continue to advocate for women’s health

Describe your research interests/goals:

Fertility Preservation, Oncology, Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation, REI, QI, Mullerian Anomalies, Pediatrics

What are your hobbies?

I love creating things (sewing, refinishing furniture, crafting gifts for friends, etc.), and am a huge fan of Broadway and live music. I also enjoy going to the gym, and am in the process of trying to learn to love cooking by making a new recipe every Sunday while I indulge in my other love of watching video essays.
