Residency Program

Start Year:

2023

Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

I chose Duke for the mission, patient population, positive culture, breadth of subspeciality divisions and research opportunities. I felt the program was forward-thinking, invested in reproductive justice and full of people with a passion for education and lifelong learning. It felt like a place where I would be given the tools and environment to become the kind of physician I aspire to be.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

What excites me is being able to go through a tough four years with incredible humans to support me and help me grow!

What are your career goals?

My big picture goal is to become a physician researcher with a focus on health inequities that disproportionately impact Black women. I seek to do community-based participatory research to create asset-based interventions that can be implemented across communities/systems, in addition to being an advocate on the policy level to address institutional injustices. I am still undecided about subspecialty.

Describe your research interests/goals:

My research interests include Black maternal morbidity and mortality, trauma-informed care and quality improvement.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, art/drawing, trying new foods, photography, going to musicals/performances
