Residency Program

Start Year:

2020

Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
Beyond an exceptional reputation, Duke stood out because of the truly authentic interactions I had on my interview day. In learning about the program, I found my values aligned well with Duke's commitment to health equity and inclusion, something they not only talked about, but actively seek to address. On a personal note, my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and two nieces live in Raleigh - being near family meant the world to me and my husband for this next chapter.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
The residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn brings together incredibly smart and patient-centered doctors. I am excited to join Duke Ob/Gyn not only because I know I'll be challenged, but also because I know I'm part of a true community where I will be supported along the way too.

What are your career goals?
I want to practice and lead as an ob/gyn generalist who advocates for women’s health at the local, state, and federal level. I hope to always link my practice and involvement with research and advancing health equity.

Describe your research interests/goals:
I am interested in studying the intersection of medicine and public health, specifically interventions aimed at alleviating health disparities and achieving health equity so that I may practice patient-centered ob/gyn care that improves the lives of women and girls.

What are your hobbies?
I like to read nonfiction, stay active and spend quality time with my husband.
