Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
I chose Duke because during my interview everyone seemed aggressively happy to be a part of this community — the sense of support, genuine friendship and mentorship at every level was unmatched. Despite Duke being a top-10 program with a very prestigious reputation, the atmosphere is far from competitive and there is truly room for everyone to succeed. Duke is a place where the journey rather than the destination is emphasized; asking questions is expected AND encouraged; and everyone actually cares about wellness. The call schedule is second to none and every single person of a team is committed to maintaining a positive culture. Secondarily, there was a huge focus on teaching and learning during interview day and I am a huge nerd for med ed and academic medicine. I can confidently say that training here will prepare me to be an excellent teacher one day. Lastly, Durham is the perfect place to live for residency! It has all the fun of a big city without all of the drawbacks such as absurd rent prices, traffic, safety concerns, etc.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I am excited to learn from some of the country's leading researchers, advocators and clinicians who are known nationally for their work and contributions to science. I am also excited to build connections with other really accomplished doctors in training who are also so SWEET and nice and interesting and just perfect in every way. Also... MOLE PARTYYYYYY.
What are your career goals?
Most likely generalist... maybe a 25% interest in PAGs! At some point in my career I would also like to work with medical students/residents in pre-clinical and clinical settings.
Describe your research interests/goals:
Medical education, primary care (HPV vaccine, screenings), quality improvement, DEI
What are your hobbies?
Roller skating, pickleball, making TikToks, trashy reality TV of the dating and relationship variety (i.e Love Island, The Bachelor/ette, Love is Blind, etc.)
