ACOG Promotes COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Safety

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) encourages education from healthcare providers about the safety of COVID-19 vaccine boosters during pregnancy/for all recently pregnant people (up to six weeks postpartum). Patients who received a COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy or up to six weeks postpartum are encouraged to receive a booster vaccine from Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (J&J). Those who meet the criteria can schedule a booster if they received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months ago (after the second shot of Pfizer or Moderna) or if they received  the single-shot Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine two or more months ago:

Guidelines for boosters:

Pfizer: Full dose

Moderna: Half dose

J&J: Full dose
