Duke Ob/Gyn and the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina are sponsoring a reading of The Turnaway Play on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. at Duke’s von der Heyden Studio Theater. The event coincides with a visit by Diana Greene Foster, PhD, to Duke. Dr. Greene Foster is an associate professor and the director of Research, Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) at the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at the University of California San Francisco (Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences). Dr. Greene Foster’s sister, Leslie Lisa Greene, wrote the play, which summarizes some of the findings from the Turnaway Study, which examines the effects of unwanted pregnancy on women’s lives.
