Congratulations to Alison Weidner, MD, MMCi, who has been selected as an award recipient by the Duke Center for Research to Advance HealthCare Equity (REACH Equity) as a member of the 2019 cohort of awardees for its Research Voucher (faculty) programs. Dr. Weidner received a voucher for her project titled Improving patient/provider engagement and communication via a mobile app.
This project aims to improve the quality of shared decision-making between patients and providers about the management of uterine fibroids by developing a uterine fibroid-specific version of an existing digital tool developed at Duke University, the Prepped app. This health information app helps patients to prepare for provider visits by identifying questions that specifically address their information needs.
