Resident Jenny Wu, MD, participated in the Milken Institute's recent Supporting Philanthropic Engagement to Advance Health Equity in Science Retreat, held June 4-6 at Research Triangle Park. Program participants included leadership from the National Institutes of Health, prestigious educational institutions and experts in social impact and health equity. Among the topics discussed at the meeting was missing or inadequately captured data in current research and clinical databases. The gaps in data collection and analysis significantly hinder efforts to fully understand and resolve health disparities.
