Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
To put it simply, I believe Duke is an exceptional place to learn. During my sub-internship in benign gynecology, I was impressed by the enthusiasm and kindness that each resident and faculty member showed me as a prospective teammate. I remember watching the co-residents celebrating each other's successes and offering support during hard days. The Duke culture felt like family, and I left my away rotation feeling confident it was the environment I wanted to be in while navigating the challenges and triumphs of residency.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I am most excited to strengthen both my personal and professional relationships! From the outstanding faculty to my co-residents to the locals in downtown Durham, the Duke community has welcomed me with open arms — and I am ready to lean in.
What are your career goals?
In a post-Dobbs era, it is clear that creative adaptations are needed to protect the rights of those seeking gynecologic care. I hope to build on my experiences in medical education and global health, and explore the intersection of those interests with the clinical world of maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic surgery. Ultimately, I envision working with an interdisciplinary team to design innovative solutions that reduce health disparities and achieve equity in the women's health sphere.
Describe your research interests/goals:
My research interests center around innovative peer-to-peer medical mentorship, global health and human behavior clinical research. I am excited to investigate research opportunities that exist inside the ob/gyn department, like within Duke’s Women's Community and Population Health division and in the greater Duke community — like Duke Medx, and the various centers with Duke’s Global Health Institute.
What are your hobbies?
Studio art — wedding/engagement portraits, scoping out the live-music scene, running, outdoor activities that require minimal hand-eye coordination and breakfast for dinner
