Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?
I chose Duke because of the supportive and positive culture that is built on a foundation of respect for all patients and employees. I am inspired by the relationship that Duke has with the surrounding community in Durham, and I am excited to be a part of it. Additionally, Duke has an abundance of resources for residents to pursue research and continue their medical training through fellowships.
What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?
I am excited to learn from the exceptional ob/gyn faculty and residents at Duke. They are skilled physicians, enthusiastic teachers and have diverse interests and hobbies outside of the hospital that they are eager to share with trainees. I am especially excited to transform into the doctor that I aspire to be in such a supportive and collegial environment.
What are your career goals?
My goal is to provide patient-centered care to a diverse population of people across the entire spectrum of reproductive health. I am motivated to deliver goal-directed care that upholds individual patient preferences and works towards health equity. I am particularly interested in surgical subspecialties associated with ob/gyn, and I enjoy practicing medicine in an academic setting where I can collaborate with colleagues in different fields.
Describe your research interests/goals:
My research interests broadly include disparities in reproductive health outcomes and exploring patient preferences regarding standard of care practices. I am also passionate about discovering ways that we can better support patients with cancers of the reproductive tract, and fertility preservation options for women undergoing treatment for cancer.
What are your hobbies?
Field hockey, triathlons, half marathons, skiing, hiking, traveling, reading
