Duke Ob/Gyn is proud to present the 2023 Donald T. Moore, MD, Endowed Lecture honoring the legacy of the esteemed physician, educator and community leader. The goal of the Moore Lectureship is to bring to Duke and Durham nationally recognized experts on such topics as health care disparities, societal issues related to access to care and the economics and politics of health care. This year's featured speaker is Dr. Erica Marsh, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical School and Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Marsh is the founder and Director of the onWHARD collaborative, a group dedicated to women's health and reproductive disparities research, education and advocacy. In this capacity, she leads several large research studies including SOAR, a project investigating ovarian aging in African American women, and ELLAS, a cohort study designed to help health care providers better understand reproductive health conditions affecting the Latina/Latinx community. Dr. Marsh is also a committed community advocate. She builds bridges between community organizations and academia with community-based participatory research initiatives that have led to funding, publications and awards.
