PROMISE Study Currently Recruiting Participants

The PROMISE Study (Peer group Research On Mentoring Scientists underrepresented in biomedical research), an NIH-funded research study to bolster diversity in the biomedical workforce, is currently recruiting participants to take part in peer group mentoring meetings that focus on both personal gains (e.g., sense of belonging, research self-efficacy) and longer-term career outcomes and professional development (e.g., publications, grants submitted and funded, promotion). Meetings are facilitated by senior UR Duke researchers. Group meetings start in Fall 2023.

Eligibility: Postdocs or Early-Career Faculty engaged in biomedical research who identify as belonging to racial/ethnic groups underrepresented in biomedical research careers. Participants must be from Duke, UNC or other select local institutions.  Contact Rebecca Kameny (Rebecca.kameny@duke.edu) or Friederike Jayes (Friederike.jayes@duke.edu).
