Complex Family Planning

Complex Family Planning

Start Year:

2024

Why did you choose Duke for your fellowship training?

After doing medical school in Texas and residency in New York, I wanted to continue my medical training for my complex family planning fellowship in a slightly restrictive abortion climate in order to reach the patients that need my help and training the most, while also still being able to get the training that I need. I love that Duke offers training in the full spectrum of abortion/contraception care while also allowing me to learn to navigate a more restrictive abortion environment and advocate for a patient population in need.

What excites you about the fellowship program at Duke Obstetrics & Gynecology?

As the first complex family planning fellow at Duke, I am so excited to help grow the fellowship and see all of the amazing things that I can do during my time here!

What are your career goals?

After fellowship, I hope to be able to confidently provide all patients with the full spectrum of abortion/contraception care in order to help them meet their family planning goals. I also hope to build my advocacy skills in fellowship so that I can be an effective advocate for all patients and their family planning needs. I'm not sure exactly what my career after fellowship will look like, especially with the ever-changing political climate in the US, but I know that I want to be a full-spectrum family planning provider who can advocate effectively for my patients!

What are your hobbies?

Hanging out with my dog!
