Residency Program

Start Year:

2020

Why did you choose Duke for your residency training?

When I interviewed at Duke I had a really special feeling. I left feeling like I was absolutely sure that I would be happy here. For me this feeling came from the residents I met, the lives I saw they were living, my interview conversations and the opportunities Duke provides. It was very important to me that the Program Director and faculty that I met shared my values regarding patient care and I felt that immediately with everyone I met.

What excites you about the residency program at Duke Ob/Gyn?

After being here for a few weeks, I am most excited that the excitement and connectedness that I felt on my interview day has continued throughout my start to residency here. I have deep admiration for my co-interns and my residency "team." I am inspired by the culture here and the drive of everyone around me.

What are your career goals?

First and foremost, I hope to be a well-trained, kind and trusted physician. I started my women's health career working at Planned Parenthood,  and I am considering a Fellowship in Family Planning. However I am still discovering my many interests and am open to seeing where this next step takes me.

Describe your research interests/goals:

My research thus far has focused on medical student education in family planning. I am interested in future research continuing on these subjects in addition to other topics in family planning and obstetrics and gynecology.

What are your hobbies?

My new favorite North Carolina hobby is sitting on my front porch relaxing in this beautiful weather. I also enjoy walks with my puppy, going to the ocean, painting, drawing, sailing and soccer.
