The 5th annual event was converted to a virtual platform due to COVID-19 travel and social distancing restrictions. The day-long meeting attracted more than 115 participants from a variety of scientific subspecialties across the country who interacted virtually with the nationally recognized keynote speakers and panelists. Over 55 abstracts were presented by post docs, fellows, residents, and medical students from 23 academic institutions, of which 10 CAIRIBU programs had trainees presenting. Prerecorded Flash Talk sessions (in place of Poster Sessions) was an efficient, coherent mechanism for presenting, while the Q&A time afterwards provided a time for valuable interaction between the trainees and audience. In keeping with the meeting’s tradition to facilitate trainee networking, the invited speakers and panelists engaged in small group discussions with trainees during Zoom break-out sessions.
